Originally known as RIA (Residential Investments Australia); Bowtell Development Group (BD Group) was incorporated in May 1990 although preliminary operations began in December 1989.

Formed for the express purpose of bringing high quality, securely leased residential property to the investment community, the company was jointly formed by Lawrence (Larry) Bowtell, who remains the company principal today.

In 1990 Larry was commissioned to structure a large-scale sub-division in Melbourne's West. In the process, Larry initiated discussions with a Commonwealth Statutory Authority - the Defence Housing Authority (DHA).

In January 1998 Larry Bowtell was invited to join the Committee of the Property Council of Australia.

With its offices located in Melbourne's thriving Docklands district; BD Group is a boutique property development company that prides itself on the personal attention it gives to its customers.
